"Myth" is often taken to mean "not real" even by current-year academia; but in reality, "myth" means "imaginative story".

Science is not a "Western" way of knowing, since World Majority cultures have embraced science and are making contributions to the field.

Even science cannot escape the influence of mythology, since so many scientific discoveries (including the planets of our solar system except the one we live on) are named after deities.
