The Old Testament
Judaism and the Hebrew Bible
Whoever wrote the Adam and Eve story was an incel.
Portraying the fruit of the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil as an apple may have been a pun between the Latin words for "apple" and "evil".
Even in modern Romance (Latin-descended) languages, the Italian word for apple is "mela" and the Spanish word for bad is "malo".
The Ten Commandments
I am the Lord Your God; You shall not have other gods before me
You shall not make for yourself an idol*
You shall not use the name of the Lord Your God in vain
Remember the Sabbath Day and keep it holy
Honor your parents
You shall not murder
You shall not commit adultery
You shall not steal
You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor
You shall not covet anything that belongs to your neighbor
*The Roman Catholic Church removed the commandment against idols and made "You shall not covet your neighbor's wife" the new 9th commandment

Beasts of the Bible
Not your elders' Sunday school
As you can see on this webpage, the Bible is full of sex, violence, and scary stuff.
Hence, by sheer logic, the Bible may as well end up on the "banned books" list.
Islam
The Quran and the Teachings of Muhammad
The Life and Times of Muhammad
In Muhammad's day, the Arabian Peninsula was full of Jews, Christians, Zoroastrians, and pagans who worshipped jinn (genies).
Pilgrimages to Mecca were already a common practice.
Muhammad worked as a caravan driver for a woman named Khadijah, who became his first wife.
One day, Muhammad received revelations from God (known as "Allah" in Arabic), and started to spread the word among his friends and family.
His friend group became the first Muslims ("those who submit [to God]").
Muhammad's revelations are codified in the Quran, the holy text of the Islamic faith.

Please Note
Those fundamentalist groups within Islam you see on the news do not represent the religion as a whole.
In fact, most Muslims (even other fundamentalists) despise these people.
Associating Islamic fundamentalists with Islam is like associating Christian fundamentalists with Christianity, and making it look as if all Christians are tolerance-challenged prudes who think having fun is a sin and label social progress "satanic" while commenting "Jesus is the only god" and confusing nudity with [prawn].
I guess Adam and Eve were [prawn] stars!
(at least until they ate the fruit of the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil)
